Best and brightest come together at Student and Staff Awards
The School of Nursing & Health Sciences held their inaugural Student and Staff Awards ceremony in the University’s Dalhousie Building last week, rewarding the achievements of future nurses and their teachers.
The event saw more than 30 people come together to recognise excellence in pre-registration students, post-qualifying students, and staff, after a year of hard work.
A unique twist saw the nominations for Inspirational Student Nurse of the Year opened to the public – meaning friends, colleagues, peers, NHS staff, academics, patients and visitors could put forward their preferred candidate. An adjudication panel then came together to discuss the entries, and agree on the winners.
Staff awards were also open for nominations, while success in other categories was determined by academic work, clinical skills and practice placements.
